Aircraft for Africa (AFA) was established in 2012 by Deborah. AFA focuses on business development, marketing and the sale of pre-owned fixed wing aircraft and rotorwing aircraft. Deborah’s aviation experience spans over several decades having being part of the marketing team who were the first distributors for Robinson Helicopters, Bell helicopters, Lockheed & Smiths Industries simulators in Southern Africa. These brands have all grown exponentially throughout Southern Africa, thus creating many career opportunities for engineering staff, pilots and corporates alike.
Deborah’s expertise are business development, sales and marketing – having being involved in business development for piston helicopters (Robinson) and turbine helicopters (Bell). Deborah has dealt with high net worth individuals and has built very good relationships over the years. She has sold many turbine helicopters from Princes in Abu Dhabi to mining magnates in Brazil etc. Deborah exported the majority of the EC 120 helicopters from South Africa to overseas countries.
Deborah is a strategist and insightful in business. Deborah saw the opportunity to become involved in developing the airline market, and secured the mandate from Egypt Air to sell their 2 x Airbus A320-200 airliners – which she successfully achieved. This has been the highlight of her aviation career.

Laurence is the Business Consultant for Aircraft for Africa (AFA). Laurence founded Aviation Jet Consultants (Pty) Ltd in 1980 and has over 46 years experience selling Corporate Jets, Turboprops, Helicopters and Airliners. A licenced Commercial Pilot on Fixed Wing aircraft and Rotorwing aircraft. Laurence represented Sikorsky helicopters and imported the first Corporate S76 Sikorsky helicopters into South Africa.
He is now the CEO of Jet Freighters (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in the Isle of Man involved in airline freight and airline sales.
Daniel, is currently the sales Executive and Technical Analyst for Aircraft for Africa. He begun his journey in Aviation in 2016 as maintenance planner and technical analyst. His passion for aviation coupled with love for business exploits, paid off successfully throughout his Aircraft Sales career. He is a qualified aviation specialist and quality auditor registered with professional bodies’ i.e. AVDEX, FAA & IATA. Daniel continued his aviation’s training and received his Airline Dispatch License with Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).
He is a person of integrity, reliable, professional and subscribes to the highest levels of confidentiality to ensure his client’s needs are met at all times. His knowledge in Aviation has been built up over several years and understands the dynamics of the industry. Don Bekker is a second generation pilot that has been in the aviation industry professionally for 8 years as an instructor in fixed wing for abinitio and advanced training. He is actively responsible for the operation and maintenance of several aircraft. He has planned and delivered several ferry flights across Africa and to Madagascar.He has been doing aircraft evaluations and sales for the last 2 years and is therefore in a large network of aviation professionals.
Don is a people’s person that goes out of his way for clients. His natural business instinct paired with his extensive knowledge of the aviation industry and different aircraft types makes him the ideal candidate to provide a professional service for AFA clients.
